In today’s briefing, Professor Christina Pagel presented the latest numbers and Professor Stephen Reicher introduced our new ‘Sustainable Suppression’ strategy which sets out recommendations for lifting restrictions safely without the need to go into future lockdowns.

We were joined by special guest Dr Rachel Clarke, a palliative care doctor and author of ‘Breathtaking’, an account of working within the NHS during the first wave of the pandemic. She gave a compelling insight into the reality of what ‘living with the virus’ actually means for the NHS and the challenges that lie ahead for exhausted and traumatised frontline healthcare workers.
