The focus of this week’s session was Long Covid which, according to the ONS survey, affected around 1.3 million people in the UK as of December 6th 2021. Independent SAGE was joined by Lesley Macniven and Polina Sparks of the Long Covid Support Group and Dr Nathalie MacDermott, paediatric infectious diseases registrar and NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London. Guest expert Dr Deepti Gurdasani, clinical epidemiologist and senior lecturer at Queen Mary University London, gave a presentation of the latest Covid data.
